Found abandoned on the roadside, immobilized by a massive tumor protruding from his stomach, this poor dog was in dire straits. Leaving him behind was simply not an option.
“Helen Summerfield-Brown,” a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing stray and abandoned animals, came to his aid. Recognizing his dire condition, they promptly arranged for his transport to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
Midnight’s condition was critical; he had stopped eating, a clear indication that the tumor was taking its toll. Upon arrival at the hospital, he underwent a battery of tests including blood work, X-rays, and an ultrasound. Sadly, the diagnosis revealed several issues including hookworms, anemia, and malnutrition. Worse still, his dangerously low blood platelet count meant surgery to remove the tumor was not immediately feasible.
Time was of the essence; the tumor continued to grow. The medical team conducted additional tests to determine the optimal timing for surgery.
Despite the challenges, Midnight’s resilient spirit shone through, endearing him to everyone who crossed his path.
Thankfully, Midnight’s surgery was successful. The tumor, a massive testicular growth, was removed, weighing in at a staggering 4.85 pounds.
“That burden on his frail little body is gone, and I couldn’t be happier for him. Midnight, taking a few tentative steps post-surgery, has made us all immensely proud,” said the vet.
“We adore this boy and are committed to doing everything we can to ensure his well-being.”
With each passing day, Midnight’s health continues to improve, and soon he will be ready for adoption
